Ana Silva "Mamai" Fernandes

FERNANDES, Ana Silva. In Dorchester, originally from Brava, Cape Verde, died May 20, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Ana is survived by her loving family and affectionately known by all as "Mamai". She will be missed and remembered for her generosity of spirit, selflessness, and the love she gave to her daughters and grandchildren. Memories of her will live on through all those she has touched and through the lives she has impacted.

She is the beloved wife of the late Luis Fernandes.

Loving mother of Julia Burgo and her late husband Manuel Burgo of Quincy, and Berta and her husband Fermino Barbosa of Dorchester.

Devoted "Mamai" to Jacklyn Burgo, Jerriana Burgo, Haleyana Barbosa, and Ava Barbosa.

She is also survived by several sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews.


Family and friends will honor and remember Ana's life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Wednesday from 5-8 P.M.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, Roxbury, on Thursday morning, May 24th, at 10 A.M.

Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Mattapan.
