Beloved husband for 70 years of Eleanor M. (O'Connor).
Loving father of Deborah M. and her husband Carl Crisman, Karen A. and her husband Edward J. Crowley Jr., all of Dorchester, Keith F. and his wife Susan Scannell of Holbrook, and the late Bernard F. Scannell Jr. and Elizabeth M. Farnham.
Brother of John O. Scannell and Roger V. Scannell, and predeceased by 9 other brothers and sisters.
Survived by 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, Monday morning, September 19, at 10 A.M.
Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 P.M.
Relatives and friends invited.
Veteran WWII - U.S. Army, Private First Class, 3rd Infantry Division.
Late retired employee of Schrafft's Candy for over 20 years and member of the Knights of Columbus, Columbus Council #116.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernard's memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.
Interment in Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury.
