Casey J. Hillis

Of Quincy, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2022.

Beloved son of Kevin Hillis and Cindy Powers: “Little Big Brother” to Colleen and the late Shannon Hillis: Loved uncle to Ryan: Guardian Angel to Sophia: He leaves behind several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Casey also leaves behind his “nearest and dearest” soul friends, you know who you are! His strong and supportive brothers from his “RAILROAD FAMILY’ at Keolis Commuter Services, and so many others he has crossed paths with and befriended during his lifetime.

Anyone who knew Casey knew his passion was music. His guitar was never far from reach, and he spent much of his free time playing guitar, writing lyrics and recording.  He found great comfort in his music, and the songs he wrote came from deep within his soul. His music was often a reflection of what was occurring in his life at that moment. An avid Boston sports fan, his closet was filled with shirts, sweatshirts, hats and socks representing each Boston team. He was known to be dressed in full team apparel during each season.

Casey had an enormous sense of humor, and he didn’t hesitate to share it. Even on days that were difficult for him, he encouraged others when he sensed they needed it. He hugged his friends when in need or just as a reminder that he loved them. Casey will be deeply missed by those who loved him. Please find comfort in knowing that his strong spiritual connection will take him to a greater place on his next journey. He will always be close by.

A private memorial service was held for Casey on September 23, 2022. A special thank you to Fr. Joe White and those at Murphy Funeral Home for a beautiful service.
