Danuta (Burakowska) Sosnowski

Of Pembroke, formerly of Dorchester, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on August 27, 2025.

Beloved wife of Richard Sosnowski.

Loving mother of Agnieszka Sosnowska and her husband Runar Ingi Hjartarson of Iceland.

Sister of Kazimiez Burakowski of Poland.

Sister-in-law of Elizabeth and her husband Andrew Tybinkowski of Topsfield, and Hedwig and her husband Wojciech Przybyla of Newport, RI.

Aunt of Peter and Jack Tybinkowski.

Family and friends will honor and remember Danuta’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 655 Dorchester Ave., South Boston, on Thursday morning, September 4th, at 10:00 A.M.

Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.

Danuta worked as a nurse in Poland prior to emigrating to the United States in 1971, where she settled in Dorchester. She then worked at New England Life Insurance Company for over 35 years. She enjoyed taking long walks along Duxbury Beach. She will be lovingly remembered for her great taste in clothing; she could pick it and match it like nobody else! She loved shopping at TJ Maxx and Marshalls.
