Of Burlington, formerly of Dorchester, died peacefully on July 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Dennis faced his cancer diagnosis with incredible strength, courage and grace.
Born in Boston on February 4,1958 Dennis was number nine of ten children born to the late Roberta (Bennett) McCarron and the late George J. McCarron Jr. He was a proud graduate of Boston Latin School (‘76). After working for the U.S. Post Office for more than 40 years, he moved on to Boston College where he spent 8 years as Manager of Mail Services. He truly enjoyed helping and interacting with his supportive staff and students.
Dennis met his loving wife Maureen on Cape Cod. They married in 1986, and were happily married for almost 40 years. He brought much laughter and love to their lives, whether it was a night out with friends or a night home on the couch. They settled in Burlington where they raised their two daughters, Aimee and Christine. Dennis was a devoted father. His love and support for them is never ending and they are his greatest source of pride. Some of Dennis’s most cherished moments were those spent in the last 11 years as “Buppa” to his four grandchildren. They are the true joy of his life.
Dennis was the beloved husband of Maureen E. (Crowley) McCarron of Burlington; Loving father of Aimee Ralto and her husband Jeffrey of Melrose, and Christine McCarron of Leominster; cherished Buppa of Ellie, Luke, Charlotte and Sam Ralto. Son of the late Roberta M. (Bennett) McCarron and George J. McCarron Jr.; devoted brother of Roberta Murphy and her late husband Danny of Norwell; Patricia Clark and her husband Richie of Braintree; Eileen Cina and her late husband Sam of Rockland; Rita Turco and her late husband John of Rochester; William McCarron and his wife Ann Marie of Boston; the late Florence Peterson and her late husband George; the late Maureen Flaherty and her late husband Bernie; the late George J. McCarron, III and his late husband Philip Stanley; and the late Robert McCarron. Dennis is also survived by dozens of loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and a large circle of close friends from The Corner.
Dennis’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Bradley McGregor, Sheila Enderby, RN, Dr. Douglas Brandoff, Charmaine Lastimoso, RN, and all their team members from Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Their support and kindness through Dennis’s cancer journey was unwavering.
