Donald C. Garaventi

Of Boston, born in Lititz, Pennsylvania in 1936, passed peacefully on June 3, 2024, following complications from Parkinson’s disease.

He was the beloved husband of Lois A. (née Pichulo) for 64 years; loving father of Lynda (Steve) of Wilmington, DE, James (Bonnie) of East Sandwich, MA, and Thomas of Boston, MA; adoring “Grampa” of Daniel (Ngoc), Robert, Katherine (Tim), Michael, Cole, and Grace, as well as the great-grandfather of Magnolia; and cherished brother of Harriette (Jack) of Rochester, NY.

Family and friends are invited to honor Don and celebrate his life by gathering at St. Cecilia Church, 18 Belvidere Street, Boston, MA (www.stceciliaboston.org) on Friday, June 7, 2024, for a visitation beginning at 9:00 A.M., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be limited to family.

Don was a graduate of Lehigh University (class of 1958), where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. He spent nearly four decades with Rohm & Haas, holding numerous positions, in the U.S. and internationally, rising to Vice President and Business Group Director. Following his successful career at Rohm & Haas, he was instrumental as a leader of several startup organizations and was a board member at NovoDynamics in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

His other passions included spending time with his family and friends, and enjoying the outdoors, especially fishing.
