Donna M. (Reardon) Hudson

d. September 11, 2022

Coral Springs

HUDSON, Donna M. (Reardon). Of Coral Springs, Florida, formerly of Dorchester, Massachusetts, passed away on September 11th, 2022.

She was the daughter of the late William J. and Alice Reardon, loving wife to the late William F. “Bill” Hudson, mother to William E. Hudson and his wife, Melissa of Coconut Creek, FL, Elizabeth F. Hudson of Quincy, MA, David M. Hudson of Palm Coast, FL, Sheila A. Hughes and her husband, Brendan, of Groton, MA and Christine L. Hudson of Hyannis, MA.

Donna was the Nana of six beautiful grandchildren: Megan E. Jameson of Asheville, NC, Kaitlyn G. and Jack E. Hudson of Coconut Creek, FL, Kieran P. and Colin W. Hughes of Groton, MA and Nora C. Hudson of Hyannis, MA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

Donna dedicated her life to her family: raising their five children in multiple different states due to her husband’s career as the Director of Marketing for Ryder Truck Rental. They ultimately settled in Coral Springs, Florida where she would go on to be an instrumental part of many of her grandchildren’s lives. The oldest, Megan, lived with Bill & Donna until she was nine, when she moved to North Carolina with her family. Kaitlyn & Jack lived nearby and were frequently chauffeured around to school, sports practices & games, and eventually work by Nana. Although Kieran, Colin, and Nora all live in Massachusetts, they enjoyed holidays spent in Nana & Papa’s pool and summertime visits from their family.

Donna was the glue that held the Hudson family together. After Bill’s passing, she continued to plan family gatherings and made more frequent trips to visit her grandchildren in Massachusetts. She was a welcomed guest at her son, Bill, & his wife, Melissa’s dinner table many nights of the week. She never missed one of her grandchildren’s sporting events where she could always be found in her folding chair and Boston Red Sox visor. Donna was the matriarch of the Hudson family. She was a supportive wife and mother, loving grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her spitfire personality, generosity, fierce loyalty, and love for her family will never be forgotten. She will truly be missed.

Family and friends will honor and remember Donna’s life by gathering for a Funeral Mass in St. Margaret Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 800 Columbia Road, Dorchester, on Friday morning, October 21, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adams Street, Dorchester.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna’s memory may be made to the Dana Farber Institute’s Pan Mass Challenge Bicycle Ride: Checks payable to PMC, can be mailed to Pan Mass Challenge, 77 4th Avenue, Needham, MA 02494, or donate online at PMC.org.
