Dr. Dulcinea (Joy) Mericia de Correa Rodrigues (101 years) September 2nd 1922 - January 10th 2024.

Beloved wife of the late Swithen Rodrigues (Chief engineer, Indian Railways), daughter of Charles and Florinda Correa, and sister of Carmelita Nazareth (Charles), Dr. William Correa (Olga) and Dr. hc. A visionary and inspirational leader, she was appointed to the first Consilium de Laicis established by Pope Paul VI to implement the reforms of the Second Vatican Council and the Pontifical Commission for the Study of Women in Church and Society. She was also the International Vice President of the World Union of Catholic Women's Organizations, longtime National President of the Council of Catholic Women of India, and President of the YWCA of Bombay. In these roles, she interacted with St. Pope Paul VI, St. John Paul II, St. Mother Teresa, Jesuit Superior General Blessed Pedro Arrupe SJ, Queen Fabiola of Belgium, and First Lady Rosalyn Carter.

Dipl. Phys. Anjali Roeth; Nicola (Anand), Kristen (Brad), Carrie (Dr.Joe), and Andrew Kamath; and 14 great grandchildren.

Her charismatic personality, generous heart and brilliant mind touched all our lives, and a light has left our world.

May God grant us the courage born of Faith to, as Saint Theresa said “See our life for what it is, a passage to Eternity”.
