Du Van Nguyen

Of Dorchester, died peacefully on November 3, 2023 at the age of 75.

Du was born in Vietnam on May 18, 1948 and was the eldest of five children. He married his beloved wife of 44 years, Van Vu, on October 20, 1979. Together, they immigrated to the United States in 1993 in search of a better life for their family. As a resident of Dorchester for 30 years, Du lived a wonderful and fulfilling life surrounded by the people he loved the most.

He was a loving husband to his wife and devoted father to his three children and their spouses: John and his wife Oanh, Binhminh and his wife Vanessa, and Mary Y Nhi and her husband Jon. He was also a cherished and beloved Papa to his 5 grandchildren: Khang, Sophia, Hadley, Ella, and Noah.

Du was a faithful parishioner of St. Ambrose Church in Dorchester. He was a devout Catholic and dedicated his life to carrying out God’s work. It was clear through his words and actions throughout life that his biggest passion was his faith.

Family and friends will honor and remember Du’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ambrose Church, 240 Adams Street, Dorchester, on Saturday morning, November 11, 2023, at 10:00 A.M.
