Edward "Eddie" Joseph White

With heavy hearts and sadness, we announce the passing of Edward “Eddie” Joseph White, born December 27, 1974, age 49, of Braintree (formerly of Savin Hill). Eddie passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and close friends after a swift but valiant battle with cancer.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife Eileen (Fewer) and children Maeve and Teddy as well as his parents Edward and Patricia (Hill) of Yarmouth and his five siblings: Timmy (Heidi) of Braintree, Robbie (Amanda) of Norwell, Shannon (Patrick) of Savin Hill, Kevin (Kevin) of Savin Hill, and Brendan of Yarmouth. Special godson of Monica and Wally White of Florida. Eddie was blessed with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews as well many amazing friends including his lifelong partners in crime Richie Higgins of Dorchester and Eric Vinitsky of Squantum.

Eddie is considered one of the finest gentleman to come out of Savin Hill.   He attended St. Williams Grammar School, BC High and Barry University meeting many lifelong friends along the way.

Known for his strong work ethic, Eddie spent 20 years as a laborer with Local 223 leaving his mark on the Big Dig and present Boston skyline. He spent the last 8 years working at the Commuter Rail alongside his brother.

Eddie was happiest spending time with his family and friends whether it was on his back deck, at Sebago Lake, on Cape Cod or out fishing. Often referred to as a ‘Good Time Charlie’ he never left a party early and could often be found telling stories into the “wee hours”.

His greatest joy in life was the family he built with Eileen. You could always find him at his children’s activities, cheering them on and making folks laugh with his witty commentary. 

Eddie will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him.

Friends and family will honor Eddie’s life by gathering for visiting hours at the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave, Dorchester, on Sunday March 3^, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 72 Washington Street, Weymouth, on Monday morning, March 4^th, at 10:30 AM.

Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
