GILLIS, Gina Minguillan.
An Office manager at Massachusetts General Hospital since 1998, died September 6th at her home in Boston.
She was 49 years old.
Gina was born in 1965 in Quezon City, Philippines, and graduated from St. Paul College. Before moving to Boston, she spent three years at Bayer Philippines as a promotional representative, working alongside her twin sister and best friend.
Gina married John Gillis, and they, along with their son Daniel, enjoyed traveling around the United States and the world.
A person of deep faith, Gina was loved and admired by her family and many friends for her warmth, kindness, generosity, determination, and strength.
She was predeceased in death by her father, Daniel Minguillan of Quezon City, and her twin sister, Liza Minguillan Beyer of Toronto, Canada, who died in January.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 24 years, John Gillis, and son Daniel Duncan Gillis, both of Boston; mother Nena Minguillan of San Diego, California; sister Edith Minguillan-Vera of Quezon City; sister Diana Minguillan Rakiey of Orange, California; sister Grace Minguillan Mitchell of Arlington, Virginia; and her Gillis family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Gina's memory to Roxbury Latin School, 101 St. Theresa Ave., West Roxbury, MA 02132, or any preferred charity.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 68 William Cardinal O'Connell Way, Boston, on Saturday, September 12, at 12 Noon.
There will be a visitation in the church for one hour preceding the Mass.
