In South Boston, formerly of Dorchester, died September 3rd, 2018.
Beloved husband of Helen (Bromley) Costello.
Loving father of Michelle and her husband John Harrington of South Boston, Claudia Costello of South Boston, Tara Anton of Quincy, and the late Kathleen "Katy" Donovan.
Father-in-law of William F. Donovan of South Boston.
Devoted Papa of Sean, Robert, and Laura Donovan, Conor and Meghan Harrington, and Jamie and Brian Anton.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jim's life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Tuesday, September 11th, from 4-8 P.M.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Brigid of Kildare Church, 841 East Broadway, South Boston, on Wednesday morning, September 12, at 10 A.M.
Burial with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 12:45 P.M.
Jim was a retired locksmith for Northeastern University for many years.
He was a member of the James J. Rice Amvets Post #28, the Thomas J. Fitzgerald VFW Post #561, and the Michael J. Perkins American Legion Post #67. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to St. Brigid of Kildare Church, 842 East Broadway, South Boston, MA 02127.
