Of Dorchester, “Savin Hill”, died peacefully on October 15, 2023.

Beloved son of the late Albert H. and Mary (Flaherty) Desmarais.

Loving brother of Ann L. and her husband Brian E. Flynn of North Quincy, and the late Albert H. Desmarais, Jean M. and her husband William Kiley, and Paul F. and his wife Mary Desmarais.

Survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jimmy’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Margaret Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 800 Columbia Road, Dorchester, on Thursday morning, October 19th, at 10:00 A.M.

Burial with military honors will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Roslindale.

Jimmy proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a manager at Elm Farm in Uphams Corner and later at Stop & Shop in South Boston. He loved to travel and one of his favorite destinations was Jamaica. He loved bowling and was an avid Boston sports fan. Jimmy will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor and will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jimmy’s memory may be made to the “Jimmy Fund”.
