James "Jim" Hart

Of Dorchester, died unexpectedly on June 8, 2025.

Beloved son of the late James F. Hart and Elizabeth “Betty” (Andrews) Hart.

Loving brother of Charles F. and his wife Maura Hart of Watertown, Joseph A. and his wife Diana Hart of Roslindale, Elizabeth and her husband Christian Hayes of Milton, and John C. and his wife Leah Hart of Chicago, Illinois.

Loving uncle of Emily Hart, Nicholas Hart, Christian Hayes, John Hayes, Elizabeth Hayes, Christopher Dymond, Emily Dymond, Henry Hart, and Isabel Hart.

Jim is also survived by many cousins.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jim’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Avenue, DORCHESTER, on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Margaret Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, on Tuesday morning, June 17th, at 10:00 A.M.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.

Jim graduated from Boston College High School, Class of 1980. He then earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and International Relations from UMass Boston. He started his career working for Merrill Lynch in New York as a stockbroker. He then moved on to work as a credit analyst for the casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. He loved travelling, playing chess, and music. He will be especially remembered for his charismatic and witty personality. He was always considered the life of the party. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
