James Stephen "Moose" Parago

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of James Stephen Parago, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and friend, on  August 14, 2023.

Jim "Moose" Parago was born on August 3, 1947 in Sydney Nova Scotia. He was the son of the late Bernard and Bridget Parago. He married his wife Sharon (Morrison) in 1975 and together they raised 2 beautiful children.

Jim was employed for eighteen years at Sydney Steel Corporation, before moving to the United States, where he was then employed for twenty five years as a maintenance mechanic at a food processing plant. 

He lived an active life, enjoying travel, playing a game of cribbage, shooting a game of pool, and his favorite pastime, swimming and spending the cooler months away from Boston at his second home in North Fort Myers, Florida.  

Left to grieve are daughter Kimberly (Martin) DeLeon, son Steven Parago, and 3 special grandchildren, Nicholas, Isabella, and Brandon DeLeon. Jim is also survived by brothers Dennis (Margie), Patrick (Marie), sister-in-law Patsy (Joseph).

Jim was predeceased by brother Joseph, sisters Bernadette, and Gloria.

He had many special friends and a large extended family on Cape Breton Island.

There will be no visitation per his request, cremation has taken place.
