Beloved wife of the late James M. Hayes B.P.D.
Loving mother of Maryellen Barry and her late husband Trooper Paul Barry of Franklin, Michael and his wife Judy Hayes of Ohio, Susan Hayes of Brighton, and James and his wife Lori Little of North Carolina.
Daughter of the late Gerald DeLorie and Mary Ellen (Farrow) DeLorie.
Sister of Paul and his wife Christine DeLorie of Milton, Richard and his wife Gisela DeLorie of Germany, Mary Ellen and her husband Dennis Gallagher of Florida, and the late William DeLorie. Sister-in-law of Janet DeLorie of Braintree.
Devoted “Grandma” of Nicholas, Emily, Alexandra, Colin, Michaela, James, and Elizabeth Barry, Hayley Hayes, and Kenan Little.
Jeanne is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jeanne’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ambrose Church, 240 Adams Street, Dorchester, on Wednesday morning, February 1, 2023, at 10:00 A.M.
Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
Jeanne was a retired schoolteacher for the Archdiocese of Boston for 30 years, teaching at St. Ambrose, St. Augustine, Gate of Heaven, and St. Jerome Grammar Schools. She was a volunteer at Exceptional Citizens’ Week at Camp Fatima for several years, as well as helping at Bingo for St. Ambrose and St. William Parishes. Jeanne was an avid traveler, and especially enjoyed her many trips to Ireland.
