Joe "DJÊDJÊ" Martins

MARTINS, Joe "DJÊDJÊ". Of Braintree, formerly of Brava, Cape Verde, died June 20, 2020.
DJÊDJÊ served 15 years in the Portuguese Army in Angola as a Lieutenant. He was also an Assistant Dentist. He came to the United States in 1978, settled in Roxbury, and then moved Braintree in 1994.
He was the beloved husband of Edith Martins.
He was the son of late Eugenia S. (Goncalves) Martins and Joao Sena Martins.
Loving father of Nelson and his wife Kim Martins of Leominster, and Carrie Martins of Quincy.
Brother of Maria Fatima Martins, Maria Eugenia Martins, Antonia Martins, Maria Teresa Deburgo, and Maria Ines Martins
Devoted "Pupi" of Anisah, Mikey, Eumahni, Buddy, and Jordan.
Uncle of Melissa Piers, Cynthina Deburgo, Christina Deburgo, Monica Martins, and Denise Piers.
Great-uncle of Phenix Noelle Cheltenham.
Family and friends will honor and remember DJÊDJÊ's life by gathering for a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 400 Dudley Street, Roxbury, on Friday morning, June 26, at 10 A.M.
Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
Visitation will be private.
