John Edward Broderick

Of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, died January 17, 2024, age 90 years.

Beloved son of the late Patrick Broderick and Helen A. (Joyce) Broderick, both of Co. Galway, Ireland.

Loving brother of Margaret “Peggy” (Broderick) MacKay of Dorchester, and the late James Broderick, Thomas Broderick, and Marie “Pat” Healy.

Special uncle to Christine Healy, Colleen Healy, James Healy, Kelly Peck, Thomas Broderick, Jennifer Tarmy, Sean MacKay, and the late Christopher MacKay.

John is also survived by many grandnieces, grandnephews, and 2 great-great-nieces.

Family and friends will honor and remember John’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann Church, 243 Neponset Ave., Dorchester, on Friday morning, January 26^th, at 10:00 A.M.

Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.

John was a graduate of Dorchester High School for Boys, Class of 1952. He was a retired controller for the J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody for over 15 years. After retirement, John especially enjoyed his many walks around Castle Island.
