Brother of the late Marguerite Thornton, Joseph M. and William F. Doyle.
Devoted grandfather of Jennifer M. and her husband Sean R. Daly of Worcester, and Janice B. and her husband Joseph P. Molloy of Braintree.
Cherished great-grandfather of Skylar and Alyssa Daly, and Jenna, Joey, Kristen, and Brian Molloy.
Uncle of Sally Kelley, Thomas, Michael, and John Thornton and their families.
Visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, Thursday 4-8 P.M. Funeral Mass in St. Margaret Church of Blessed Mother Teresa Parish, Friday morning, November 20, at 10 A.M.
Relatives and friends invited.
Longtime usher at St. Margaret Church and volunteer at the Pine Street Inn for many years. John was also a contributor of "Smiles for Children".
John's family would like to extend a sincere thanks to his dear friends who cared for him with love and compassion during his final challenge; Mauricio, Jose, Maria, "Jan and Phyliss", Shand, Jeff, Jay, Marie, Suzanne, Lillian, and Seasons Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Autism Resource Center of Central Mass, 71 Sterling St., West Boylston, MA 01583.
