MADDEN, John J. "Jack". A lifelong Dorchester resident, died November 2, 2018.
Former husband of the late Kathleen J. (Porter) Madden.
Loving father of Georgina and her husband Carl Rao of Florida, Kathy White of Wisconsin, Robert Madden of Hingham, David Madden of Florida, John Madden and his fiance Karen Clifford of Hull, Jeffrey and his wife Roberta Madden of Hanson, Michael Madden of Swansea, Anthony Madden of Swansea, and the late Patricia Madden and Sheila Madden.
Son of the late John S. Madden and Catherine A. (Dolan) Madden.
Brother of William and his wife Diane Madden of Dorchester, Lawrence Madden of Dorchester, Francis and his wife Mazie Madden of Canton, and Charles and his wife Patricia Madden of Quincy.
Survived by 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jack's life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Wednesday, November 7th, from 3-8 P.M.
A private funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 8th, with burial following in Massachusetts National Cemetery at 12:30 P.M.
Jack's family would like to invite everyone to join with them immediately following the burial at the Quincy Lodge of Elks, 254 Quarry St., Quincy, at 2:00 P.M.
Jack graduated from Northeastern University and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a retired electrical engineer and cofounder of Hy-Comp. He was a trustee and former treasurer of the Quincy Elks Lodge and an avid bowler.
