Karen French Power, born on August 20,1947 in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Her passing leaves a profound sense of loss, but also deep gratitude for the warmth, wisdom, and compassion she shared throughout her life.
Karen dedicated her life to understanding and uplifting others. After graduating from Euclid High School, she went on to graduate from Ohio State University with a Bachelors in Social Work, she later pursued higher education with determination, earning her Master’s Degree in Education from Cambridge College with honors. This achievement became the foundation of a distinguished career in mental health.
As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Karen guided countless individuals and families with empathy, insight, and unwavering patience. She had a unique ability to create a safe space for healing, helping people find strength during their most difficult moments. Her work touched many lives and left a legacy of compassion that will continue for years to come.
In 1973, Karen married Peter John Power, and together they built a life grounded in love, care, and shared purpose. Family was the heart of who Karen was, and she carried deep pride for the generations before her—especially her parents, Edith Pease and Marion French—whose stories and resilience shaped her own. Karen and Peter (deceased) built a family starting with daughter, Bridget being born on their first wedding anniversary and four years later their beloved second born, Daniel (deceased) completed their family unit.
Karen is survived by her beloved daughter, Bridget Goldthwaite and her Husband Shawn, son Danny Power (passed away) & his son Ethan. Her grandson, Jeremy Campbell and his wife Destiny and her cherished great-grandchildren, Micah and Maizie, who brought her immense joy and her grandson, John Brady. Her love for her family was steadfast, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and gentle guidance that will continue to shape their lives.
Those who knew Karen will remember her thoughtful presence, her generous spirit, and the calm reassurance she offered to others. Her absence will be deeply felt, yet her memory remains a source of comfort, light, and enduring love.
May her memory be a blessing.
