Kathryn (Lavin) (Ellis) Colby

COLBY, Kathryn (Lavin) (Ellis). Age 78 years, of Boston, (Dorchester), passed away at the Bostonian Nursing Home, in Dorchester on the evening of Thursday, April 16, 2020, following several happy years there, attended to by caring health attendants.
Beloved daughter of the late Thomas Leo and Blanche E. (Elliott) Lavin, and loving sister of the late Patricia Ann Couming and Thomas Patrick Lavin.
Survived by brothers, Carl D. Lavin of Canton, Neil F. Lavin and his wife, JoAnn of Bradford New Hampshire, and sister Margaret H. Miller of Hingham.
Loving mother of Kathleen Ellis of Dorchester, Richard J. Ellis and Ronald Ellis Couming, both of Billerica, Maureen McCauley of Manchester, NH, Denise Almele and husband Marwan of New Bedford, Thomas Ellis and his husband, Patrick Bowe, of West Newbury, George Ellis of Boston, and Michael Potter and wife Patricia of Dorchester.
Also sorrowfully mourned by numerous grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
No visitation or services are appropriate during this time of pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, we respectfully recommend contributions be made in her name to Rosie's Place (a Boston Home for Poor and Homeless Women), 889 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA, 02118, (617)-442-9322, or www.rosiesplace.org.
After cremation, Kathy's cremains will be interred at a future date in the family plot at the Canton Corner Cemetery in Canton.
