Lorraine A. (Zubiel) Wilks

Of Dorchester, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on January 10, 2026.

Beloved wife of the late George C. Wilks.

Loving mother of Patricia MacPherson of Dorchester, JulieAnn Kurtzman and her late husband Paul of Quincy, and Peter Wilks.

Devoted “Grandma” of David MacPherson Jr., Sean MacPherson, Grace MacPherson, Cassandra Kurtzman, Richard Kurtzman, Takei Kurtzman, Gaelin Kurtzman, and great-grandmother of 6.

Sister of Pauline English of Wasilla, Alaska, Elizabeth Rogers of Marshfield, and the late Valerie Hardway.

Lorraine is also survived by her beloved “grand doggies”, Lexi and Penny.

Family and friends will honor and remember Lorraine’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held in the Gilman Chapel at Cedar Grove Cemetery, 920 Adams Street, Dorchester, on Tuesday morning, January 20, 2026, at 11:00 A.M.

Lorraine was a retired secretary for the Department of Defense, working at the Fargo Building in South Boston for over 30 years.
