Lynda M. Howland

Of Dorchester, Savin Hill, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness on May 16, 2026.

Beloved daughter of the late John J. “Mike” Howland and Mary T. (Darcy) Howland.

Loving sister of John J. and his wife Patricia Howland of Utah, Janet A. Wynne and her late companion John Bleheen of Dorchester, and Michael S. Howland and his late wife Rita Howland of Dorchester.

Devoted aunt of Patrick J. Wynne Jr., Ryan M. and his wife Barbara Wynne, Michael J. Howland, and Rori G. Edwards and her husband Dennis Donovan.

Lynda is survived by many loving cousins, and Monty the dog. She was a dear friend of the late Michael “Budzo” Clooney.

Family and friends will honor and remember Lynda’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Margaret Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, on Friday morning, May 22, 2026, at 10:00 A.M.

Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Roslindale.

Lynda was a retired certified nursing assistant in the maternity ward at St. Margaret Hospital in Dorchester for many years. She was a teacher’s assistant at the Edward Everett Elementary School in Dorchester and worked for many years at Coleen’s Flower Shop, and as a concierge at the Boston Cruiseport in South Boston. She will be fondly remembered for the gracious way she cared for many of her neighbors in need in her Savin Hill neighborhood.
