Martin Mannion

December 16, 1913 — October 28, 2009

MANNION, MARTIN. In South Boston, longtime resident of Savin Hill, formerly of Quincy and Leenane, Co. Galway, Ireland, October 28th.

Beloved son of the late Michael and Bridget (Holleran) Mannion.

He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Carney of Dorchester, brothers, Thomas of Boston and Patrick of Johnston, NY, sister, Bridget, and brothers, Michael and John, all of Ireland.

Martin is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, including Nora Sullivan and Agnes Wisnes of Quincy, Joseph Carney of Milton, Barbara Leo and Kathy Manning of New York, and numerous other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews in the U.S. and Ireland.

Visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, Friday 6-8 P.M. Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, 757 Hancock St., Wollaston, Saturday morning, October 31, at 10 A.M.

Relatives and friends invited.

Late member of the Utility Workers Union of America, Local #369.

In lieu of flowers, Martin's family recommends donations in his memory to the Marian Manor Nursing Home, 130 Dorchester St., South Boston, MA 02127. The devoted staff and Sisters of the Manor provided Martin with loving and compassionate care during his time with them.

Interment in New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.
