CODY, Rev. Michael F. SSC. In Santiago, Chile, April 21st, after a short illness, age 62 years.
Beloved son of the late Jeremiah J. and Mary J. (Cashman) Cody.
Loving brother of Margaret C. and her husband William L. Donovan of Scotch Plains, NJ.
Devoted uncle of Kathleen E. Donovan, Michael B. and his wife Catherine Donovan, and Brian C. and his wife Lori Donovan.
Father Cody, a member of the Missionary Society of St. Columban, was assigned to Chile after his ordination in 1973. In 1982, he was reassigned to the United States where he worked in prison ministry, mission promotion, vocation, and formation programs in Boston, Chicago, and Omaha. After returning to Chile in 2005, he served as pastor of San Matias Parish in Santiago and as Regional Director of Chile.
Fr. Cody's Funeral Mass was held on April 23rd in San Matias Church, Santiago.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Margaret Church of Blessed Mother Teresa Parish, 800 Columbia Rd., Dorchester, on Saturday, May 30, at 11 A.M.
Relatives and friends invited.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Missionary Society of St. Columban, P.O. Box 10, St. Columbans, NE 68056.
Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Scituate.
