Michael Joseph Hernon

HERNON, Michael J. In Dorchester, formerly of Rusheennamanagh, Carna, Co. Galway, Ireland, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, July 15, 2019.

Beloved husband of Margaret G. (McDonagh) Hernon.

Loving father of Corporal Matthew M. Hernon USMC and Meghan J. Hernon, both of Dorchester.

Brother of Colie Hernon of England, Barbara Brown of England, John Hernon of England, Philomena Hernon of England, Bridie Muller of Quincy, Agnes Bainbridge of Ireland, Muiread Birrane of Ireland, Stephen Hernon of Dorchester, Gerald Hernon of Ireland, Peter Hernon of Ireland, Paddy Hernon of Ireland, and the late Josephine, James, and Martin Hernon.

Survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Michael's life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Thursday, July 18, from 5-8 P.M.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mark Church on Friday morning, July 19, at 9 A.M.

Burial will take place in Mynish Cemetery in Carna, Co. Galway.

Michael was a member of the Laborers Union Local #223 for over 20 years.

Michael's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff at VNA Hospice and Beth Israel Hospital for their comforting care.
