Nancy E. Bouchard

d. January 8, 2017

Bouchard, Ret. Sergeant Nancy E., U.S. Army. Of Beverly Farms, died January 8, 2017 at the GRECC Alzheimer's and Dementia Unit at the Bedford VA Hospital after an 8-year struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.

Nancy was born Dec. 2, 1952 to the late Adrian C. and Margaret M. (O'Hara) Bouchard of Beverly Farms, where she was a graduate of St. Margaret's School, Memorial Jr. High, and Beverly High Class of 1970.

After graduation, she attended the New England School of Art and Design in Boston. Nancy enlisted in the Army as a private in 1974, and retired in 1995 as a Master Sergeant in Public Affairs as a photographer and journalist, with over 20 decorations, medals, and badges. She was stationed all over the world, and took advantage of any time off to travel and explore.

As a life-long learner, she took multiple continuing education classes while enlisted. When she was finally stationed back in the Washington, DC, area she took advantage of her Veterans' benefits to earn an Associate's as well as a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland.

When Nancy retired in 1995 and came back home to Beverly Farms, she attended Boston University to earn her Master's Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation. After working with clients for several years, she retired all together to return to her art roots. She left many paintings and photographs as her legacy, and travelled to Europe multiple times with other local artists to paint the countryside.

Nancy grew up on West Beach, with lots of great friends making memories in the sun. She loved the Fourth of July, and spent many years at the Horribles Parade as well as later participating as a Committee member. She thanks Mt. Hamilton for her ski roots, and used them to ski the Alps, the Canadian Rockies, and of course all of New England. Her love of Girl Scouting as a child led her to become a Scout Leader for 17 years, with troops from Beverly to Italy.

Nancy leaves behind her brother William A. and his wife Laurie J. (Cunningham) Bouchard, and two nieces Sara E. and Eliza K. Bouchard, all of Byfield, MA.

She was the devoted niece and Goddaughter of Joseph J. Malloy of Beverly Farms and niece of Mary E. Cruddas of North Carolina.

She also leaves a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and their children spanning many generations.
