FORTUNA, Nancy L. (Osborne). Age 79 years, of Berlin, NH, North Haven, CT, Hanover, MA, and Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on June 14th after a brave, year-long battle with brain cancer.
Nancy was born on June 29, 1937 in Berlin, NH. She grew up alongside her sister and brother at her parent's drive-in restaurant, Bernie & Dave's. She met her soulmate during her school days and began their life together, which included a trip to UNH, a stint in the U.S. Army based in Germany, multiple moves around the country, and three loving sons.
Nancy epitomized what it meant to be a loving, kind and unselfish person. She was a trusted friend, mother, and grandmother to everyone who knew her. She was always providing assistance to those in need, whether as a reading teacher, volunteer, CCD teacher, or any other selfless roles that she embraced. To know her was to love her. She will be greatly missed.
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Louis A. Fortuna. Sons; James and his wife Beth Fortuna of Hamden, CT, David and his wife Michelle Fortuna of Clinton, CT, and Gregory and his wife Stephanie Fortuna of Hanover, MA. Grandchildren; Andrew, David Jr., Matthew, Caitlin, and Kylie Fortuna.
She was predeceased by her parents David Osborne and Bernadette (Gunn) Osborne, sister Phyllis Holt and brother Paul Osborne.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Nancy's honor at St. Mary Church, 392 Hanover St., Hanover, MA, Monday June 26th at 10 A.M.
Relatives and friends invited.
