Dorchester – Ms. Nora P. "No-No' Mulkerrin died Monday, June 17, 2019 in Milton Hospital. She was 80.
Nora was born on October 6, 1938 in Rusheenamanagh, Carna, Co. Galway, Ireland, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Joyce) Mulkerrin. Raised and educated in Ireland she immigrated to the United States in 1956 settling in Roxbury for a short while before making Dorchester her much love home for the remainder of her life.
Nora worked many years as a secretary at John Hancock Insurance in Boston before retiring. While not blessed with children of her own she took an active part in the lives of her nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was the doting aunt that everyone absolutely adored and will very much miss.
In earlier years she enjoyed ballroom dancing, travelling, bowling and bingo.
She leaves her siblings, Michael F. Mulkerrin (Mary) of Quincy, Kieran Mulkerrin (Sarah) of England, Paraic Mulkerrin (Bernadette) of Winthrop, Seamus Mulkerrin (Sheila) of Millis, Johnny Mulkerrin (late Valerie) of England and the late Colm Mulkerrin; her sister-in-law of Ann Mulkerrin of Quincy; also survived by many nieces & nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Nora's life by gathering for calling hours in Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Thursday, June 20th from 5-8 P.M. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Margaret Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish on Friday morning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
