HYNES, Patricia M. "Tricia" (Finnigan).
Of Scituate, formerly of Dorchester, died unexpectedly from complications related to scleroderma, which she courageously battled for the past ten years, at the age of 49 years.
Tricia grew up in the Savin Hill section of Dorchester, attending St. William's Grammar School, Class of '86, Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School, Class of '90, and Fitchburg State University, Class of '94. She went on to achieve her Master's Degree in special education at American International College.
She spent 16 years as a Boston Public School teacher, teaching K1 at the Chittick Elementary School in Hyde Park. Prior to that, she taught at St. Ambrose Grammar School in Dorchester and St. John's Elementary School in the North End. She also supported the Tynan School and took part in an after-school reading program. She participated in Camp Joy, a non-profit summer camp for children, as well as Boston's Head Start, a program that provides educational and child development services to young children from low-income families.
Tricia loved being outdoors and enjoyed many years of camping, canoeing, kayaking, biking, and skiing up in North Conway. She equally enjoyed the beach, making her regular trips to Cape Cod and Pemaquid Point, Maine, over the summers as well as joining numerous family vacations.
She spent quality time with her several longtime friends and large family. More recently, she was a proud spectator at all her son's sporting activities, which included; hockey, baseball, and tennis-both practices and games.
She will be missed dearly.
She was the beloved wife of Sean M. Hynes and loving mother of Sean Brady Hynes.
Daughter of the late Richard F. Finnigan and Katherine A. (Travers) Finnigan.
Sister of Janice M. Finnigan of Dorchester, Joseph J. and his wife Lisa A. Finnigan of Scituate, Katherine A. Finnigan of Braintree, Thomas J. and his wife Patricia M. Finnigan of Hanover, Joan M. and her husband Roderick J. MacKinnon of Dorchester, Richard F. Finnigan of Dorchester, and Robert W. Finnigan of Dorchester.

Tricia was loved by many nieces and nephews; Capt. John Finnigan U.S. Army and his wife Sarah Finnigan, Kelly Finnigan, Dayna Finnigan, Jacklyn, Lauren, Erin, and Megan Finnigan, Capt. Scott MacKinnon U.S. Army and his wife Rebekah MacKinnon, Petty Officer Third Class Jake MacKinnon and his wife Jesse MacKinnon, Casey MacKinnon, Patrick Finnigan, Kailynn, Regan, Braedan, and Emmerson Finnigan.
Great-aunt of Evelyn MacKinnon.
Daughter-in-law of Michael S. Hynes and Margaret E. Hynes.
Sister-in-law of Lisa Hynes and Tom Hoadley and their daughter Lily Hoadley, Stephanie and her husband Patrick Drummond, and Laurie and her husband James Muldowney, and their children James, Riley, and Braeden.
Tricia is also survived by many cousins and dear friends.
Family and friends will honor and remember Tricia's life by gathering for visiting hours on Monday, September 6, 2021 from 2-6 P.M. at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate, on Tuesday, September 7th, at 10 A.M.
Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Scituate.
