Patrick Delcourt

Patrick Delcourt passed away peacefully at Mass General Brigham Hospital on February 4, 2026. He had been in declining health over the last year.

Patrick was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts, and spent his early years living on the South Shore. He graduated from Braintree High School in 1979, returning to the city of Boston which he loved in 1982. His first apartment was on Westland Ave which he leased with friends Timothy and Matthew. Patrick always the one to take charge, was “Mumsy” to his “daughters” “Milly” and “Mary” and others along his journey. He always wanted to know those he cared about were taken care of. Their early years together formed friendships that would last the rest of their lives.

Patrick had a varied career. He started working in hospitality for Hyatt and later transitioned to working in transportation in the financial services industry. In the early 1990’s he joined Lotus Corporation, working for many years at their warehouse in Cambridge until their merger with IBM. Patrick then returned to hospitality, transforming a “dive bar” into a community gathering hot spot among Emerson College students for 10 years.

In the late 1980’s, Patrick met his life partner Bob and they spent the next 35 years together, enjoying life’s simple pleasures until Bob’s passing in 2024. Their interests included a love of travel that took them to England, Italy, Prague and other countries throughout Europe. They also loved to travel North America visiting Canada, and various US destinations including Arizona, California, Florida, Washington, and Cape Cod. They were happiest when meeting friends for drinks, dinners, or some new eclectic movie of which Patrick had read a review. Patrick was a voracious consumer of news, watching multiple news casts every day. He was happy to debate a variety of topics with anyone who dared to disagree with him. He loved all SCI-Fy, and Star Trek, Babylon 5, and Star Wars were among his favorites. He also was passionate about trains - old ones, new ones, real ones, and model ones. In his travels, passage by train was always a bonus, especially if there was an interesting station to visit. He often asked friends to take pictures of trains they saw while they travelled.

Patrick was born in 1961 to his parents Theresa (Levasseur) and Frederick who along with his Stepfather Adrian Brandos all predeceased him. Patrick was also predeceased by his life partner Bob and his siblings Gerard and Michelle. He is survived by his siblings: Sandy (Wife Karen), Colette (Husband Richard), and Phillip, as well as his dear friend of nearly 40 years, Richard Olson (husband Richard), his beloved nieces Laura Splawn and Kathy Bugbee, along with many other nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Patrick’s life by gathering for a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street, Marshfield, on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, 92 Centre Ave., Rockland.
