O'TOOLE, Patrick J. Of Newton, formerly of Dorchester, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on September 3, 2021.
Beloved husband of the late Celia M. "Ceci" (Butera) O'Toole.
Loving father of Caryn O'Toole and her husband John Vachon of Medfield, Patrick O'Toole Jr. and his wife Amy O'Toole of Millis, and Robert O'Toole and his wife Nadia O'Toole of Newton.
Cherished "Pa" of Joseph and Michael Vachon, Casey, Taylor, Sydney, Matthew, and CJ O'Toole, and the late Cecilia Vachon. Adored by his grand-pups Jake, Wally, and Tiko.
Brother of the late Margaret Spelios, John O'Toole, Francis O'Toole, and Mary Crowley.
Brother-in-law of Sally Lucente of Brighton, and the late Marie Butera and Santo Butera.
Survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
Pat spent his childhood years in South Boston. He settled first in Dorchester before moving his young family to his home of over fifty years in Newton. He was a proud Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army.
Pat was an electrician for the Boston Fire Department for many years, and member of the BFD Local 718, serving on the Executive Board. He was a Fourth Degree Knight and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Columbus Council, #116 in Dorchester.
Pat especially enjoyed spending time with and spoiling his wonderful grandchildren and grand-pups. He considered his son-in-law and daughters-in-law, "The best in the world."
His family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to his many caregivers for their comforting care over the past few months.
Visitation is on Friday, September 10, 2021, at Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home, 465 Centre Street, Newton Corner from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington St., Newton, on Saturday morning, September 11th, at 10:30 A.M.
Interment with military honors will take place following the Mass in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA.
