Former wife of the late James J. Smith.

Loving mother of Daniel C. and his wife Susan Smith of Weymouth, Kathleen A. Smith of Manchester, NH, James J. Smith III of Quincy, and the late Thomas J. Smith.

Devoted “Nana” of Shawnee, Lauren, and Julia Smith.

Great-grandmother of Nicholas Silva and Angelina Smith.

Sister of Robert Maxwell of Pittsfield, and the late Rita McCormick, Dwight Maxwell, Edward Maxwell, Adrian Maxwell, Anna Maraggio, Paul Maxwell, and Charles Maxwell.

Survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Phyllis’ life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Margaret Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, on Friday morning, October 28^th, at 10:00 A.M.

Interment will be private.

Phyllis was a longtime resident of the Keystone Building in Dorchester, where she was well known and loved.
