Pietra (Romano) Mirabella

MIRABELLA, Pietra (Romano). In Weymouth, formerly of Italy and Revere, died October 14, 2018.

Pietra was born in Salemi, Sicily on December 22, 1921 to Gaspare Romano and Catarina (Pisciotta) Romano, along with sisters Maria and Josephine, and a brother Peter.
She came to America in 1965 and married John Mirabella and lived in Revere for many years. She recently resided in Weymouth in an assisted living residence.

Thank you to the wonderful and caring Allerton House staff, as well as to John, the executive chef, who cooked special meals for Pietra. Care from her nephew Gaspare Capizzo and his wife Stephanie for all these past years, and Dr. Frank Capizzo and his wife Elizabeth, who have been a great support to Pietra, making her life comfortable and healthy.

Other nephews include the late Vito Capizzo and his wife Barbara of Nantucket, Tony Lombardo and his wife Susie of Corps Christy, TX, Anna Lombardo Fenton and her husband David of Montgomery, TX, Gaspare Romano and his wife of Ashland, and Catherine Romano Cotton and her husband Robert of Worcester, as well as many grandnieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Pietra's life by gathering for a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 44 East Central St., Natick, on Saturday morning, October 20, at 10 A.M.

Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Natick.
