BAKER, R. Louis. Of Dorchester and Morrill, Maine, died November 11, 2020 due to complications from Diabetes.
He spent his last few months surrounded by his family which brought him great happiness.
He leaves his wife Maryann Linnell Baker, who lovingly cared for him during his years long struggle with diabetes.
Loving father of Michael Baker of Las Vegas, Nevada, Erin and her husband David Scalli of Morrill, Maine, Irene Baker of Morrill, Maine, Rachel Baker and Joseph Baker, both of Dorchester, and the late Brooke Baker.
Devoted "Guppa" of Alora Lenane, Charlotte, and Veronica Scalli.
Beloved son of the late John V. Baker and Eileen (O'Connor) Baker of Dorchester.
Brother of Dorothy, Florence and her husband John Meehleder of Houston Texas, Stephen, Mary, Thomas, Vincent and his wife Yuko, James and his wife Jill, Joseph and his wife Kathy, Frank and his wife Today, and Dawn, all of Dorchester.
He is predeceased by his brothers John and Ricky.
Uncle of thirty-one nieces and nephews. Great-uncle to many more nieces and nephews.
He is a retired member of Local 103 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Lou was an active member of A.A. and helped many people to get through their struggles with his wit and wisdom. He believed life was all about people helping people.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to an organization that is close to your heart.
Funeral services will be private with a Memorial Mass and public celebration of Louis' life in the future when larger gatherings are allowed.
