Richard V. Baker Jr.

Richard passed away peacefully in his sleep following a long battle with cancer. 

He was the son of Gwendolyn Yeshilian of Saugus, and the late Richard V. Baker Sr. of Dorchester, and took great pride in his heritage from both sides of his family. 

Raised in Mattapan and Dorchester, Richard graduated from Hyde Park High School and earned an Associate Degree in Business Finance. He enjoyed a career in banking and later worked with the City of Boston until his retirement due to health reasons. Beyond his professional life, Richard was an avid writer of poems and short stories, authoring two published books. He also cherished creating art collages while listening to jazz music. As a devout believer in Jesus Christ, we take comfort in knowing he is now home. 

Richard is survived by his ex-wife, Linda Korner of Sweden; his two daughters, Adina N. Baker and Nakayla Morland; his mother, Gwendolyn Yeshilian; his stepfather, Michael Yeshilian; his brother, Scott C. Baker; and a loving extended family of aunts, an uncle, nephews, and cousins. 

A memorial service will be held at Murphy Funeral Home in Dorchester, date and time will be announced.
