Of Dorchester, died peacefully on January 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by all of his loved ones.

Beloved husband of Marie A. (Morris) Kinney.

Loving father of Christian X. Kinney and Sophia E. Kinney, both of Dorchester.

Son of Robert Kinney and his wife Barbara Kinney of Weymouth, and the late Elizabeth H. Racine-Kinney.

Brother of Tracy Kinney and her fiancé Michael Gaudet of Newton, Eddie and his wife Courtney Kinney of Braintree, Bobby Kinney of New Hampshire, Marnie Kinney of Plymouth, Peter Kinney of Bridgewater, Michael Collins of Weymouth, Eddie Collins of Florida, Kelly Pittman of Weymouth, Leo Collins of Florida, and the late Jamie Kinney.

Brother-in-law of Mark Brennick and his fiancé Tiffany of Walpole, and Rosemarie Stone and her late husband Robert Stone of Haverhill.

Richard is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and friends will honor and remember Richard’s life by gathering for a Funeral Mass in St. Margaret Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 800 Columbia Road, Dorchester, on Wednesday morning, January 21, 2026, at 11:00 A.M.

Richard worked for many years in the restaurant industry, managing many restaurants over the years. He also worked as a direct care professional for the May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities. Both careers he loved deeply.
