Richard E. Meade

Meade, Richard E. (B.P.D. Ret.), of Dorchester, formerly of So. Boston, suddenly, September 25, 2017. Son of the late Frederick & Florence (O'Keefe) Meade. Beloved husband of the late Anne Marie (Tierney). Richard was the brother of Frederick W., Marilyn Awalt, and Susan. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Raised in Roslindale, Richard moved to South Boston where he spent the majority of his life, and later moved to Dorchester. After high school he proudly served his country as a Sgt. in the Army during Vietnam, and returned to Boston where he became a Patrolman with the Boston Police Department retiring from the Drug Control Unit. He was a member of the BPPA, and Boston Police Relief Association.

Richard's funeral will be celebrated in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER on Tuesday October 3rd at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
