Beloved husband of Dolores A. (Hock) for over 61 years.

Loving father of Mary Ellen Miller and her husband John M. Pearsall, Karen A. and her husband Jeffrey E. Jackson, Doreen E. Miller, and Robert J. Miller.



Devoted grandfather of Heidi E. Moesinger.

Dear brother of Lillian C. McGoldrick of Uniondale, NY.

Cousin of Marie A. Mascia of Bethpage, NY, and many nephews and nieces.



Visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home 1020 Dorchester Ave. DORCHESTER, Sunday 4-8pm.

Prayer Service Monday morning, July 18th at 9 A.M.

Veteran of Korean War, U.S. Navy.



Retired Supervisor of A.T.& T. for over 31 years.

His lifelong avocation was music. He learned to play the trombone at Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn, NY and never stopped playing. During the Korean War he played with the U.S. Navy Band, Ships Company, Bainbridge, MD. Richard also played for 22 years. with the George Rae Orchestra, as well as the Bell Symphony, NY, Melrose Symphony, Metropolitan Wind Symphony, the Continentals Big Band, the UMass Boston Jazz Ensemble, and the Monarchs Big Band. He performed regularly with his daughter Doreen at Kit Clark Senior Services Center in Dorchester.

Honorary member of the Lower Mills Memorial V.F.W. Post #8699 where he performed taps.

Richard was an active parishioner and choir member of the Holy Trinity German Church, Boston.

Interment in Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree, MA.

A Memorial Service will take place in Marsh Chapel, 735 Commonwealth Ave. Boston on Tuesday morning, July 19th at 11:30 A.M.

Relatives and friends invited.
