Susan was a devoted and committed teacher. She was the first faculty member of the gifted and talented program at Milton Academy (The Saturday Course) where she taught for 47 years. She originated the famous Blood and Guts class (anatomy and physiology). Thousands of students later, her influence inspired many of the program’s advanced learners to continue their educational and career pursuits in the field of medicine. Susan taught as well in several Public-School Systems in Massachusetts, including The Harbor Schools in Newburyport, Frost School in Lawrence, and Thatcher School in Attleboro. Susan was acknowledged for thirty years of volunteer service to the BAA for the Boston Marathon a few years back. She’ll be remembered for her quick wit, irreverence, coupon clipping and her collection of twist ties.
A celebration of her life is planned for Saturday, November 16, 2024 at First Parish Dorchester, 10 Parish Street, Dorchester, MA, 02122, Meeting House Hill at 2:00 P.M.
