ALVES, Virgil A. In Naples, FL, formerly of Dorchester, December 20th. Beloved companion of Norma Staples of FL. Loving father of Eileen Mavilia of Randolph, John Alves of Quincy, Joseph Alves of Dorchester, James Alves of Braintree, Michael Alves of Dorchester, and Daniel Alves of Kingston. Brother of Larry Alves of FL, Edward Alves of Sandwich, James Alves of Marshfield, Cathy Allen of FL, and the late Jane Lavigueur and Margaret Armstrong. Survived by 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Mass in St. Margaret Church of Blessed Mother Teresa Parish, 800 Columbia Rd., Dorchester, Saturday morning, January 5, at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Veteran Korean War - U.S. Army, recipient of 3 Bronze Stars. Late retired employee of Boston Edison Co. for over 33 years. Former proprietor of Lionel Construction Co.
