Gates, both of Dorchester. Brother of Richard C. Gates of Millis, Ronald F. Gates of Braintree, Lawrence A. Gates of Weymouth, Alan J. Gates and Robert S. Gates, both of Holbrook, and the late Frances Gates, Marian G. McGuinness, Gerald A. Gates, Edward L. Gates, and John D. Gates. Survived by 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, Friday morning, February 24, at 9 A.M. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. Veteran Korean War - U.S. Army. Late retired custodian for the City of Boston for over 10 years.
