Of Dorchester, formerly of South Boston, died October 16, 2022.

Beloved husband of Ellen M. (Coughlin) Brock.

Loving father of Kim M. Brock and her companion Michael McMahon, William Brock, Deborah M. and her husband Edward Toland, all of Dorchester, and the late Lyn M. Brock-Mallon.

Father-in-law of Albert J. Mallon Jr. of Dorchester.

Devoted “Papa” of Ashleigh, Krysten, Brendan, Amanda, Nolan, and B.T.

Great-grandfather and “Papa” of Kaelyn, Aubree, Major, and Maezi.

Brother of Corinne and her late husband Sal Vitale, Chester and his wife Ann Brock, Mary Brock, Donna Brock, and the late Elaine Newman and Margaret McCarthy. Brother-in-law of Ralph Vazza and Reginald McCarthy.

Bill is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Bill’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Margaret Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish on Thursday morning, October 20th, at 10:00 A.M.

Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.

Bill was a proud veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a retired custodian for the Boston Public Schools and a retired member of the Sheetmetal Union. He more recently worked as a security officer at the Marian Manor Nursing Home in South Boston and at Harvard University. He was an avid bowler and especially enjoyed his Sunday night card games.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dorchester, 1135 Dorchester Ave., Dorchester, MA 02125.
