William M. "Billy" Greene

Of Dorchester, died peacefully on May 19, 2023.

Beloved husband of the late Barbara E. (Sullivan) Greene.

Loving father of Martin and his wife Patricia Greene of Mansfield, Kellyanne and her husband Ali Koushan of Dorchester, Ellen Greene of Dorchester, and Diane and her wife Carolin Greene of Dorchester.

Devoted grandfather of Julie Greene and her husband Andrew Thomson, and Michelle Greene.

Billy is also survived by Bart Forzese and his wife Susan, and their two children of Braintree, Shannon Forzese Corrigan and her husband Jaycee, and their two sons of Weymouth, all of whom he dearly loved.

Son of the late Martin and Mary (Guy) Greene, formerly of Connemara, Co. Galway, Ireland.

Brother of Anne Darcy of Pembroke and Carol Greene of Quincy.

Survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Billy’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Murphy Funeral Home, 1020 Dorchester Ave., DORCHESTER, on Tuesday, May 23, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Margaret Church of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish on Wednesday morning, May 24th, at 10:00 A.M.

Burial with Military Honors will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.

Billy was a veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired roofer and member of the Roofer’s Local #33. He also served as Chief Marshall of the Dorchester Day Parade.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Billy’s memory may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 800 Columbia Rd., Dorchester, MA 02125.
